Holbury Lakes Trout Fishery offers superb corporate facilities for
hospitality or away-days, for employee motivation and team building.
Our fishery in Lockerley, near Romsey, has four
large lakes and a chalk stream set in 40 acres of outstanding
beautiful countryside deep in the Test Valley. This perfect venue—recently
described as "one of the
best-kept secrets in Hampshire"—can be made available for
your exclusive use when you book a corporate day.
Don't worry that your guests or staff may be complete novices at flyfishing.
Highly experienced instructors and ghillies are
available to teach
and help
newcomers. In fact, this type of learning experience provides
the basis for a highly stimulating and enjoyable day. At the same time,
we can offer plenty of interest for the 'old hand'. Each
lake has its unique characteristics, which will provide plenty of scope and challenge.
We can also offer access to chalk-stream fishing on the River Dun, which
runs alongside the fishery. Both the lakes and the stream are usually
gin clear, lightly fished and well-stocked with Rainbow, Brown, and Blue
trout—which adds an exciting edge to the fishing.
Each corporate day can be arranged to meet your
and your guests' specific needs—just let us know your objectives and we can guide you on
how to create a memorable day.
Fishing Lodge: This can provide meeting, presentation or dining facilities
for up to 20 people. Ideal for delivering corporate messages, holding
seminars, or briefing your employees. A smaller meeting room is also
available. The lodge has lavatory facilities.

Fishery Office : This building
serves as the fishery's main 'office' and can be used for greeting/breakfasting
with your guests.
Equipment: The package includes the use of all equipment including rods,
line, nets, and flies. Guests can bring their own equipment if desired.
Instruction: All of our instructors are qualified and have taken
the relevant national qualification. Your guests will make the transition
from total novice to competent fly fisher in no time at all. This is
made all the easier with personal tuition on the practice lawns before
they are taken to the lakes to catch their first fish. Ghillies are then
on hand throughout the day to provide help and advice when required.
As part of the introduction to fly fishing we can also include an introductory
session on the entomology of Holbury Lakes—knowledge of the trout's
food sources can be very helpful.
Catering: For lunch you can choose the type of lunch that you require. We also provide an excellent afternoon tea
if required. Coffee and tea will be available throughout the day.
The Catch: Whether your guests catch a fish or not,
they will leave with either a fresh Rainbow trout (cleaned by
our ghillies) or a side of our trout which has been expertly smoked locally.
Competitions: If you want to add extra interest to the day, we can also
run afternoon competitions for teams and individuals (Best Novice, Best
Team, Best Fish, etc).
