Finding us on the map

Holbury Lakes Trout Fishery is close to the village of Lockerley, in Hampshire. To find Lockerley on a road map, draw an imaginary line between the cities of Winchester and Salisbury. Lockerley is just below the mid-point of that line. (Lockerley is quite a small place, so it only appears on larger-scale maps.)

Finding us from the M27

  1. Leave at Junction 2, taking the Salisbury exit from the initial roundabout (traffic circle).
  2. At the next roundabout follow the signs towards Romsey along the A31.
  3. At the foot of the steepish hill that leads into Romsey, turn sharp left onto the A27, signposted for Salisbury.
  4. After two miles or so you come to the village of Shootash. After about a quarter of a mile, look for the Shootash Garage on your right.
  5. Just past the garage, turn right at the crossroads into Danes Road, signposted for Awbridge.
  6. On reaching the T-junction in Awbridge village, turn left towards Lockerley.
  7. After two or three miles you enter Lockerley village. Continue on past a village green and a garage on your right.
  8. Follow the road under a railway bridge, then take the first left towards East and West Dean.
  9. After about half a mile, you pass through Lockerley's second village green.
  10. Fifty yards after this, take the first right into Holbury Lane. The fishery is about 200 yards along on the right.

  5. After about five miles, descend a long hill towards a roundabout on the outskirts of Stockbridge.
  6. Drive through Stockbridge on the A30, towards Salisbury.
  7. After about three miles, take the first properly signposted road to the left: the B3084 to Mottisfont and Romsey.
  8. Drive past the edge of the village of Broughton. About 150 yards after the derestriction sign, take a very small road to your right, with a restricted access sign, up a wooded hill.
  9. After about 0.6 miles and a little crossroads, you reach a T-junction. Turn right towards East Tytherley.
  10. After 1.4 miles you reach another T-junction, where you face a cottage with a letterbox in the wall. Turn left towards Lockerley.
  11. Drive for 1.7 miles, past the lodges to Lockerley Hall and the Star pub on the left. Go over bridge by Lockerley Mill and turn sharp right to Lockerley and East Dean.
  12. Drive about half a mile across the village green.
